Idaho Extends Licensing and Registration Deadline

ITDLicenseExtensions.pdf

Idaho extends it's licensing and registrations deadline.

To reduce crowds and protect against the spread of the coronavirus, the Idaho Transportation Department is issuing an emergency extension to the credentials below.
Emergency Driving and Identification Credential Extension:
Effective immediately, the Idaho Transportation Department has extended all Driver's Licenses, Driver's Training Permits, Instruction Permits, Commercial Learner's Permits, Identification Cards, and Commercial Driver's Licenses (CDL) without a hazmat endorsement that are expired or will expire between March 1, 2020 and May 31, 2020, to be valid until June 30, 2020. During this time, CDL holders will still need to comply with medical examiner certificate requirements to be considered valid.
Emergency Vehicle Registration and Temporary Handicap Placard Extension:
Effective immediately, the Idaho Transportation Department has also extended all Vehicle Registrations and Temporary Handicap Placards that are expired or will expire between March 1, 2020 and May 31, 2020, to be valid until June 30 2020. This extension applies to all registrations issued at a county office (includes passenger, commercial, noncommercial, and farm registered vehicles).
At this time, the extension does not apply to registrations issued directly by the department or Ports of Entry (includes Full Fee or !RP-registered commercial vehicles).
Please be aware that the department is not issuing any reprinted credentials because of these extensions. At this time, we are only issuing this blanket notice. It is recommended that anyone with an expired credential covered in this notice carry a copy of this notice.
If you need to visit a OMV, please contact your local OMV office prior to travel to ensure they are open for business. Some counties are available by appointment only, by phone and /or mail to process transactions. You may also call Idaho Transportation Department at 208-334-8000. The itd.idaho.gov/dmv website contains contact information for local OMV offices and additional information about these extensions.
